MP300 should work with any music player that can be recognized as an external USB mass storage device, and does not require proprietary software to connect to a computer. The current MP300 will not work with Apple iPod products. However, our next-generation of music converter product, model DP330-N, will work with iPod players that have storage capacities of less than 40GB (such as the Nano and the Shuffle). It should also work with ordinary MP3 players, providing the players also have storage capacities below 40GB. The DP330-N will be available from EZPnP by the end of May 2008, and the company will continue to work to eliminate the 40 GB limit soon.

Yes, users using the Sandisk brand of the Sony Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro in the 256mb and 512mb cards blue or black in color and made in China will not work with our units. The issue is with the cards themselves and applies only to those units blue or black in color and manufactured in China. The company also manufactured the same cards in Japan in white and gold color and those cards are not affected. We are recommending clients call Sandisk at 408-542-0500 or go to their website at www.sandisk.com for support questions, replacement, credit or refund since the issue is within the cards themselves and not the EZdigiMagic unit.

I have an EZDigiMagic and would like to use it to burn images stored on a fairly old laptop. I connected the burner and got a message that I need a driver.

The Laptop computer you have must havea USB port to connect the EZDigiMagic unit to the computer. If the Laptop uses the Win98 operatingsystem you will need the USB driver disc that came with the unit.Insert the USB driver disc into your cd-rom drive. The autodetect should load a start up screen with an install button on the top right. Click the install button and follow the instructions on the screen. After the driver is done loading the compter needs to be restarted. After restarting the computer you should be able to plug the EZDigiMagic unit into the USB port using the USB cable provided with the unit.Open the My Computer icon and make note of what driver letters are there.Turn on the EZDigiMagic unit and you should see two new drive icons appear. One drive letter is for the CD burner on the unit, and the other drive letter is for the card reader on the unit.Next install the Nero Express CD burning software provided with the unit. The only program on the Nero CD isthe Nero Express.

I prefer to shoot in RAW file format for high resolution photos. Can the unit handle these types of files?

The unit does not care which types of files you have to backup. It works with any and all types of photo or data files. Please be aware that RAW files are NOT standardized, so they do vary between camera manufacturers. Be sure to install the necessary RAW viewing software provided by your camera manufacturer to insure you are able to view them on you PC or MAC.

When connected to a PC the EZDigiMagic unit is detected by the computer and places two new icons in the My Computer menu. What does it mean when I receive a fail notification on my EZDigiMagic unit?

A fail notification on your EZDigiMagic unit might mean you may have a bad CDR or a corrupt file in the memory card you are trying to copy. Try replacing the CD with a new unused CD-R or CD-RW. Check for a corrupt picture on your memory card by connecting your PC or MAC to your EZDigiMagic unit, using it as a memory card reader to verify all of the files on your memory card are in good condition.

When I plug my EZDigiMagic unit into my computer’s USB port all the lights come on and stay on – Why?

When using the EZDigiMagic unit as an external CDRW drive plus Memory Card reader/writer connected to a computer’s USB port all the lights stay on and may flicker. The lights merely show an active USB connection.

Why is it that when I bring my digital files over to my computer’s hard drive, I cannot save it under the same name after editing? However, as long as I change the file name it can be saved to the hard drive, floppy or other media?

The reason is due to file attributes which are handled by the operating system in use. Just “un-check” the file attributes on your photo files from either archive or read-only. To remove the marks from the check boxes in file properties, simply right click with your mouse on the affected file or files. You will then be able to save them under the same original name.
